Northern Germany tourism – Hamburg, Lübeck, Bremen, Buxtehude and Kiel

Tourism in northern Germany, a region still little known by tourists, and that surprises travelers who give them the opportunity to welcome them.

Hamburg

Northern Germany has many surprises for Brazilians, such as Hamburg, a city with more bridges than Venice and Amsterdam combined! Hamburg is also the second-largest city in Germany, second only to Munich.

Hamburg’s history goes back to the year 900 A.D., where it bravely faced the Viking’s invasions, but its wealth only arrived in the XII century, with a supposedly forged document. These and many other fascinating stories we tell on our guided tours of this city that, in addition, has the most modern philharmonic in Europe, built at a cost of almost 900 million Euros.

Lübeck

Next to Hamburg, we have a jewel of the end of the Middle Ages, the incredible Hanseatic city of Lübeck.

The Hanseatic League is little known in Brazil, it was an alliance of free-market cities in northern Europe. It was extremely important for the development of trade in Europe from the 12th century onwards and had strong ties with the Teutonic Knights.

You can still feel the beauty of the Hanseatic league in the splendid architecture of Lubeck, where the merchants’ houses still remain imposing, but now they are no longer waiting for important business meetings between distant cities, but for tourists from all over the world who come here to know and taste the most famous product of the city! The marzipan!

Schwerin

Germany is the land of castles! And we are in love with them. We usually offer on our tours all kinds of visits to castles, from the most fun for children to visits with historians, in order to really elucidate how they lived there and the mysteries of each castle.

Northern Germany, although sparsely populated by castles, has some gems worth visiting. The greatest of these examples is Schwerin, a castle initially built by the Slavic peoples, which is now a unique attraction.

Bremen

Our guided tours in Bremen always have a fairytale air. After all, not only is the city part of the fairytale route, it is also home to the famous Bremen Musicians.

The city of Bremen has incredible attractions, such as the Schnoor, a well-preserved medieval neighborhood.

For wine lovers, the city also has some secrets, which when revealed become unforgettable.

Buxtehude

Buxtehude, the last stop north of the Fairy Tales Route, is a small town between Hamburg and Bremen that is far from standard German itineraries. That is a pity because the city is worthy of a detour as it has a rich history, beautiful architecture and a well-preserved historic center.

Kiel

For lovers of the sea, our tours in Kiel are incredible.
Kiel is, together with Hamburg, the entry point for many arriving or leaving Germany for cruise ship tours. We offer tours on the so-called “shore trips” to Hamburg and other cities, but the city of Kiel also has its attractions, especially for those interested in sailing by the sea.

Kiel owns, for example, the Sea Museum and the Great Sailing Week, in addition to the world’s busiest artificial waterway. Many people come here specifically to watch ships.
