Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a must-visit for those eager to explore the charm of the Bavarian Alps, in both summer and winter. This picturesque town, surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes, offers the perfect mix of adventure, history, and Bavarian culture. Among the top activities is the ascent to Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak. On clear days, views extend across four countries, and you can reach the summit by train or cable car, making for an unforgettable experience.

In addition to Zugspitze, Garmisch is famous for its trails. Partnachklamm, an impressive gorge with waterfalls and suspended walkways, is an exciting trek, especially in winter.

For winter sports enthusiasts, Garmisch is known for its ski slopes, which host international competitions like the Four Hills Tournament. In summer, the mountains become a paradise for hiking and cycling, with trails for all skill levels.

Strolling through the historic center, you’ll find beautiful houses with painted facades and typical Bavarian-style buildings, along with various shops, cozy cafes, and restaurants where you can enjoy traditional dishes like the famous schnitzel and apple strudel.

If you’re looking for a complete experience with a touch of exclusivity, our team offers personalized tours in Garmisch and the surrounding area, with itineraries tailored to your preferences.

Füssen

Located at the southern end of the Romantic Road, Füssen is less than five kilometers from the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, one of Germany’s most iconic landmarks. The castle visit is a unique experience, offering panoramic views of Alpsee Lake and Hohenschwangau Valley.

Füssen also boasts Hohenschwangau Palace, where King Ludwig II spent his childhood. Although less known, this castle provides a fascinating look into Bavarian royalty’s life and the stories that inspired Ludwig.

Beyond its castles, Füssen invites visitors for a leisurely stroll through its narrow streets lined with colorful, medieval-style buildings. St. Mang’s Church, located within the Füssen Abbey (now the city’s civic museum), is a highlight with its frescoes. Another must-see is the Lechfall, a small three-meter waterfall nearby, where the Lech River creates breathtaking scenery.

Berchtesgaden

Berchtesgaden is a hidden gem in the Bavarian Alps, located on the Austrian border. Visitors often start at Lake Königssee, famous for its crystal-clear waters and towering mountains. A boat tour reveals even more natural beauty, including an echo effect where you can hear saxophone reverberations. The tour stops at the iconic St. Bartholomä Church, a charming chapel with red domes situated on a peninsula.

Königssee lake

Apart from Königssee, Berchtesgaden is home to Berchtesgaden National Park, offering trails for all levels. A highlight is the hike to Watzmann, Germany’s third-highest mountain.

Another standout in Berchtesgaden is the Kehlsteinhaus, or Eagle’s Nest, perched atop a mountain. Built as a birthday gift for Adolf Hitler, it now operates as a restaurant with breathtaking views of the region. Visitors reach it by a special bus and an elevator carved into the rock.

Oberstdorf

Near the Austrian border, Oberstdorf is another Alpine town worth exploring. A major highlight is the ascent to Nebelhorn, one of the region’s tallest peaks, offering panoramic views of the Alps, with up to 400 peaks visible on clear days. A cable car ride brings you to the top, where numerous trails await for relaxing walks.

One popular route is the hike to Freibergsee, an alpine lake perfect for swimming in the summer. Another must-see is Breitachklamm, a stunning gorge where the Breitach River runs through rock formations, creating waterfalls and natural pools.

Mittenwald

Known as the “city of violins,” Mittenwald has a rich tradition in lutherie—the craft of making stringed instruments. A great starting point is the Violin Museum (Geigenbaumuseum), where you can learn about the city’s centuries-old violin-making heritage.

The town is surrounded by the Karwendel Alps, making it ideal for hiking and trekking. The Karwendelbahn cable car brings visitors to the mountaintop. For those seeking more adventure, there’s the famous Lautersee trail, leading to a crystal-clear lake surrounded by mountains, perfect for a picnic or a summer swim.

Strolling through Mittenwald’s town center, you’ll find streets lined with beautifully painted façades, called “Lüftlmalerei,” depicting scenes of Alpine life and biblical stories. This decorative tradition is a defining feature of Mittenwald and adds to the charm of its Bavarian-style buildings.
