Romantic Road

The Romantic Road is one of Germany’s most popular tourist routes, established in the 1950s to promote tourism in the region after the devastation of World War II. This picturesque route stretches approximately 350 km from Würzburg, in Franconia, to Füssen in the Bavarian Alps. Along the way, travelers are treated to a series of well-preserved medieval towns, castles, and breathtaking landscapes.

This beautiful route is one of the most frequently explored by our team. With so much beauty packed into one journey, it’s an irresistible starting point for getting to know Germany!

Würzburg, the starting point, is famous for its Würzburg Residence, a Baroque palace that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you continue along the route, towns like Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl offer a medieval experience with their walls, towers, and half-timbered houses. At the end of the route in Füssen, you’ll find the iconic Neuschwanstein Castle.

Throughout the Romantic Road, visitors can savor culinary delights typical of the region. In Würzburg, Franconian wine (Fränkischer Wein) is a local specialty, while in Dinkelsbühl and Rothenburg, dishes like Schäufele (roast pork shoulder) and Käsespätzle (cheese noodles) are must-tries.

Fairy Tale Road

The Fairy Tale Road is an enchanting route that celebrates the fairy tale heritage of the Brothers Grimm. Spanning approximately 600 km from Hanau, the brothers’ birthplace, to Bremen, this route transports travelers into the magical world of stories that have captivated generations.

In Hanau, visitors can explore the monument dedicated to the Brothers Grimm and take part in the annual festival celebrating their works. Steinau, where the brothers spent part of their childhood, hosts a museum dedicated to them.
